Social Security

Postby sampati » Tue Dec 13, 2016 6:41 am

We received our social security statements yesterday. We got a whopping 0.3% raise; however, the medicare insurance went up almost $9.00 a month which will result in a net loss of monthly social security payments for us for 2017. Nice.

An a Texas Representative is going to introduce legislation, which along with raising the age for full payments, will trim the size of the COLA, to help reign in high costs...

Social Security is paid in to each month by every employee and employer. At one time, it was "tax free". (Reagan changed that.) Then, as President Eisenhower called it, "the military industrial complex", decided that endless wars were the way to enrich themselves. But, the problem was, kids of the wealthy were being drafted. Then, along comes the "All Volunteer Army" so rich kids don't have to worry about the draft. Then, when we wanted to start a war, the politicians said "how are we going to pay for this"? Not wanting to pay for it, then "borrowed" money from Social Security. Now, in order to not have to repay all those trillions of dollars, they want to "reform" (kill) Social Security. They want to turn your financial future over to Bernie Madoff and his friends on Wall Street. Then. the health insurance companies want to end Medicare because their is "risk" involved for them. They want vouchers. You get sick and you will pay for your health care with "vouchers". When you run out of vouchers, you will have to make up the difference between the cost of your care and the value of your vouchers. You have cash and equity in a home and the insurance companies want it!
