2010 Bachman-Turner Reunion

Postby Ronald » Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:22 pm

For those of you in the U.S. who don't know the history of these guys, their earlier group the "Guess Who", made it really big with the song "American Woman".... back when I was 'younger'.

Randy Bachman and C.F. Turner, the principals of the 70s rock group BTO (Bachman-Turner Overdrive) will be hitting the concert trail in 2010 as Bachman & Turner. Both now senior citizens, they have updated their old hits to reflect new realities. So look forward to hearing these ‘new classics’.

Original Hit: ------------------------ New Version

Blue Collar ------------------------- Blue Hair Rinse
Four Wheel Drive ------------------- Four Wheel Chairs
Gimme Your Money Please----------Gimme My Pill Case Please
You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet --------You Can’t See Nothin’ No More
Let It Ride -------------------------- Let It Ride…Very, Very Slowly
Takin’ Care of Business ------------Takin’ Care of Illness
Roll on Down the Highway---------- Roll on Down the Wheelchair Ramp
Take It Like a Man ------------------Take Your Medication
My Wheels Won’t Turn------------- My Darned Heartburn
Welcome Home --------------------- Welcome to the Home
Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.

JR, Have you heard any of Randy Bachmans jazz stuff. He did a couple of jazz Cd's as a tribute to his long time mentor Lenny Breau

Yes that's the one. He doesn't nor did he ever have the greatest voice but he is a hell of a guitar player.

I grew up with these guys in Winnipeg, Randy Bachman lived on the same street. Turner was never a part of the Guess Who, he joined Randy Bachman when he left the Guess Who and became a part of the BTO. Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman were magic together, Bachman lured Cummings from a very successful Winnipeg group called the Devrons, Cummings had the voice and Bachman the brains, unfortunately booze, drugs and broads came between them. Bachman married a Mormon and converted, all the guys in the Guess Who hated him for his o so righteous attitude and that was the end, funny thing his wife didn't like him either and also left him, just after he built a beautiful mansion in Bellingham. Wash. A real good read on the history of the Guess Who is the "Randy Bachman Biography".
I didn't really say everything I said. "Yogi Berra"
