Airbnb and HomeAway have to pay 3% hospitality tax

If you know anyone who advertises their property for rent on the Internet, a new amendment was passed "unanimously" on October 24th making these kinds of properties subject to the 3% hospitality tax (which resorts and hotels currently have to pay). You might want to pass this info on.

It will be withheld by Airbnb and subtracted from the net the owner will receive. They aren't dumb enough to trust each individual owner to actually pay it.
