Okay gang, in response to Kitch's suggestion, I has a meeting today with the chief and his #2.
here are the facts:
-it was one robber
-they are 90% sure it was a toy gun
-they know who the guy is, but not his name. He lives somewhere in the mountains near Mismaloya.
-they have his photo, and are very aware of the unique "Tijuana" tattoo.
-they have daily patrols in both Mismaloya, and Nogalito looking for him, and providing safety
-the bus was taking the tourists to a small restaurant up a tiny road, and could not make it up the road. That is why they were walking in. The police are very sure the bus driver was not involved, but he was questioned in detail
-only THREE people has things stolen...... (not that it makes it that much better)
-they are 100% they will catch the guy, it's just a matter of seeing/finding him

This is the story, as reported from the top of the food chain.......

I just returned from a very long day with the police.......(after our meeting)
We received a call at 3:50 pm through my office, that someone had tried another skimmer on an ATM of ours in the Marina.
At 4:05 I received a call from the security company that the hardware security detected a skimmer
(this was at Charlies Exchange House, in the Marina)
So.......Sepesa sent out the undercover troops, and in a record 22 minutes, ....BAM, we caught more of these creatures!
(so I was fortunate enough to spend the next 10 hours with the chief....)
-again, it's impossible for info to be compromised, and if for ANY crazy reason it was, I have your backs!!!

Two things came of this tonight;
1.- the first "kid" arrested was the nephew of one of the guys two weeks ago....23 years old!!
My Son runs the office here in PV and looks after operations in the entire country, and he is 24 years old. I have to
Tell you, I had real mixed emotions sending him to jail!
2. - Chief says " I forgot to tell you the story of how we known the "bus bandit" and why we will catch him"!
- about 2-3-4 months ago, there was an off duty cop (security for the chief) out at Mismaloya with his girl friend, on a Sunday, and they drove down a little dirt road. 4 guys tried robbing them with machetes, fake guns, and a rifle that didn't work. They successfully had him out of the car, taped his hands behind his back, marched him off the road, and one of the bandits called out, "bring him back!!!!"
- this guy was searching the car for "their ransoms", and saw a clip for a hand gun between the drivers seat, and the door....they marched this guy back, took off the tape (not knowing he is/was personal security for the chief, and sometimes mayor) and said "we see the clip, where the fuck is the pistol!! Tell us or we kill you"...he says "okay, I will show you"....reaches between the seat and the console, grabs the pistol, shoots one bad guy dead, and another through the shoulder....
The next day, a father marches another young kid into the police station by the ear, and says " he is the third, I can't control him him, please help by teaching him before he gets killed"
-the fourth has a tattoo of Tijuana on his back.......
(this robbery was in the news, when it happened, but in Spanish papers...)
-so, the police are REALLY trying to find this guy........
(for the rest of my ATM story, stay tuned, and watch the paper tomorrow......the reporters were all over it!!!

And this is the rest of the story.......

Thanks again Dean, for the peace of mind when using your machines.

Thanks also for the "fly on the wall in the chief's office" feeling.

thanks ATM!
have a question: Since the robbery happened, has any of the Carnival tourists said on camera that there was more than 1 robber, only 1 robber.. that only 3 were robbed?etc to clarify what was actually being reported by the media?
My sister hadn't heard anything in her neck of the woods (Penna.)
