It's Birkinstocks for me. I find them comfortable and they provide support and traction allowing me to walk for miles on the steep grades and cobbles.

sass: I had the flip flops last year, but I have a high instep so they were too tight on top and I couldn't stand them!!! Also they were no good for power walking or doing up and down hill, only good for strolling around the pool I guess.
Regular crocs are no good for power walking either, good snug fitting runners work best for this, for me anyway! 8)

I did have some really good crock flipflops with arch support a couple of years ago... They don't seem to make them anymore...I was at the crock store last week looking for them.
Sarah... I also walk pretty much everywhere...so am looking for good walking shoes.
Mac... I will check out Costco in the next week.

will report back on my findings!
see some of you at the next meet up :)

thanks for all your input!

For me, nothing is better for Vallarta than Croc's sandals.....for the cobblestones, for the up and down hills; sidewalks and streets. I can walk forever in them.

I can't stand the flip-flops with the chinga between my toes; but the sandals are the best.

I've always ordered them on-line; lately seeing them in USA airport stores.
I'd rather be hated for what I am than loved for what I am not.

Sassy, I got my croc flip-flops at a mall kiosk last year in Kelowna, I've also seen them in Pharmasave and London drugs.
Keep the dream alive, hit the snooze button.
