Kidney Stone

Postby POW » Wed Jul 25, 2012 9:15 am

I've got a kidney stone moving around, feels like I've been kicked in the back by a horse, I've passed one before (ouch!!) and not looking forward to another birthing  Anyone got any magical home remedies that miraculously make this little piece of shit rock disappear   :?:

Ouch - I feel for you buddy - I had one 5cm tuck in the tube between the bladder and kidney that had to be blasted out. not a magic cure but the uroligist told me the best way to prevent them was to drink a lot of lemonade - maybe the acidity of citrus would break it up. Good luck!

I had one about 10 years ago that I couldn't pass and they couldn't blast because they said it lined up with some part of the spinal cord or something like that... They went in and got it... the full surgery thing. The problem was that they left this damn tube in that was about eighteen inches long to keep the line free and clear, and then I had to go back in ten days and they pulled it out. That's the only part that hurt.

My sympathy! You're gonna need some heavy duty pain killers and anti spasmotics if that sucker starts moving, get to the hospital. Drink lots of fluids, jump up and down   and good luck!

I have passed too many of those things to count. I've had them blasted once (boy was that tube a BIG surprise when I woke up) and just waited them out the other times. I have to agree you don't want to let them pass without some big time pain killers. I had them so bad one time I checked into the E.R. just for the morphine. Any doctor will prescibe pain relief if they know you are passing them.

I have also heard lemonaid helps you from getting them, but once they're going though your system I"m pretty sure that's too little too late.

I just went though this again a couple of weeks ago. I went to the Doc. and they did all the usual tests. The results were such that the Doc. sent me to get a ct scan to make sure it wasn't bladder cancer. It all turned out to be another case of stones so they sent me home with another barrel of Vicodin. It's nice to have around just in case you break your foot at the beginning of your trip to P.V. too! :D

Good Luck!!

I had some small ones and the doc gave me Panclasa. It worked. Lots of water with it. I think it breaks up stones.

I passed a couple of kidney stones about 43/44 years ago. The Quack told me to lay off milk and drink lots of fluids. I asked if beer was suitable, he said yes, and so I have never looked back!
