When the Rant is Over...

We all try to deal with our suffering.
My favorite people self-medicate according to what they are trying to deal with, myself included. Some have more to deal with than others. It all makes me cry.
When someone sings their heart out, and you can feel that impact, you know the reality of it is not based on an easy clean life.
I always hope my favorites will make it, but so many of them don't.
I don't think any one of us can make that judgement, so I mourn their loss without condemnation.
I am glad that Whitney Houston was able to give us what she could and I thank her for singing to us.

I guess we will find out whether she drowned or had an overdose of Xanax. I could see a regular dose and a hot bath contributing to drowning.

People are so quick to pass judgement on creative talent that uses drugs.
The creativity that produces the memorable performance is the same creativity that burns deep into the soul.

If you are refering to me, My comment was about people lying about drug or alcohol abuse. I do not give a flying fuck if you are a rockstar or a normal joe. You are who you are, you do what you do. I drink to an excess and have done many drugs ,I will not lie- Thats who I am, if I die thats what people will think.- He drank himself to death or did too many drugs (thats ,not even close) It is what it is. I would not expect anyone to feel different.
Her album sales went up big time when she died ,when was the last time any of you even thought about putting her cd in before she died? never mind, I am not trying to start a slug fest over a star dying .

I don't think it's limited to creative talent using drugs. If someone dies from a heart attack who was excessively over weight, people will say "he didn't look after himself". Alternatively if a smoker dies from cancer, they'll say, "he was a smoker so, what do you expect?". In this case, she was a known to be an addict so, they're looking for an associated reason.

Human nature I suppose. We tend to be a nasty bunch at times.
