Merek-my husband

When the Rant is Over...

Merek-my husband

Many of you may have met Merek over the years. But many did not. His arthritis kept him quite close to home and really limited his social contacts. We had 20 years together that were full of love, laughter and lots of tears as well.

Chronic illnesses suck, and effect everyone in your life, family and friends.

Regardless I wanted to let those of you who know me and Merek, that after being diagnosed with multiple cancers about a month ago he passed away peacefully holding my hand on Sunday. The drugs that kept him alive and his aggressive form of arthritis at bay most likely also killed him in the end.

We were told that he would probably have ten years to live, 14 years ago. So I am grateful for the extra time, and grateful to have gotten to make Vallarta and surrounding areas such a great part of our life.

Be kind to each other, be grateful for life, and smile when you see me. I may cry, I may not, but I will know that your smile means you know and understand. Life touches us all with trying times.

Congratulations on 20 years! I hope you seek support in your grief. And I hope you also appreciate that "extra" 4 years.

It is tough to count your blessings right now. I understand that.
