Thursday, Sept 6, Meetup at Crazy Beaches

Postby freeeye » Sun Sep 02, 2012 9:26 am

This week we will be trying a new venue for our weekly meetup.

Crazy Beaches. Francisco Madero 163 | Col. Emiliano Zapata. It is half a block up from the beach on Madero.

Karen will be having $1 cervezas and assorted specials. The food is good so consider eating there as well as drinking. 8)

Our normal summer meeting place, Langostino's, is closed for a couple of weeks for redecoration.

Everyone is welcome.

A wise choice, the best choice. Karen will do whatever it takes to make you come back. She cooks like your mom did, or maybe your grandma, in my case. I vote it should be semi-permanent for board meetings. Almost on the beach, plenty of room, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We need to support these businesses that are struggling.

I would never have the patronizing attitude of "supporting the businesses that are struggling" but I would say, hey, "Karen is the only spot near the beach that is open now and she does have great prices and food."

She's not a charity case.

Plus I like her personally.

You have good taste and cannot fault you on your spot on determinations of Karen's character! She is one damn hard worker, great cook, great friend and nothing charity about her Rick, you are so right...Would love to spend more time with her and her cantina, but that will be your decision. Enjoy her ambience mi amigos...See you in Jan!

How is it "patronizing" when you're advocating doing business with a well run, friendly business, that is suffering due to a bad economy. Go ahead and do all your business at Sams, Oxxo, Costco, etc, etc.

I happen to believe in supporting the local economy and mom and pop businesses that know your name, have great food, treat you like you are at home in comfort, and are struggling to exist. Sometimes your statements shock me.

Some people, obviously, think that we should meet at Karen's because she is a "struggling" charity case. I don't. I think we should meet there because she is a strong, honest business woman who puts out a very quality product and service.

And, as I've said, because this is one of the few bars here that I can go into without having people there hate me..
