Thursday, Oct 25, Meetup at Langostino's

Postby freeeye » Tue Oct 23, 2012 6:09 am

We'll be heading over to the beach again this week to Langostino's for our weekly meetup: Los Muertos Beach at 6 pm this Thursday, October 25.

There is an extended happy hour from 6 until 8, with beer 20 pesos and house cocktails 2 for 1 (45 pesos), including the margaritas. Good, strong drinks by master bartenders. This bar is right on the beach and there is plenty of activity. Lots of people in town right now with the tourist season starting. The sunsets are always good. The sun sets at around 8.

Here's more info on how to get there if you don't know. http://www.pvscene.com/10146/langostinos/.
Langostino's is just north of where the Los Muertos pier used to be and where the new pier is about to be.

Everyone is welcome. The snow birds are starting to return. The meetings are getting active. The Langostino's staff have been very, very good to us (tip with kindness).

We're just there to meet people and to party with those who want to party.

I know how people feel about "double posting," but, in case some do not real all threads, I want to thank those who attended last nights huge board meeting!

Through your generosity, we are turning over 5,132 pesos to the family hurt in the attack on the morning of the 15th.

There was talk about how many other people in Vallarta also need help, and why this family was being singled out. It reminded me of the story about the little boy and his grandpa, walking on the beach. They came upon an area where there were thousands of starfish washed up on the shore, dying in the hot sun. The little boy picked one up and threw it back into the sea. His grandpa said, "Son, look at the number of them; throwing one back won't make a difference."

The little boy looked up at him and said, "Grandpa, it makes a difference to that one."

Thanks for helping us make a difference for this one.
Jim

That's nice, Jim, but there is a new rule for board meetings: NO soliciting for any charities or causes at the meetups.

I don't care how precious the cause may be to any individual, I do not like people at these meetups being pressured into donating to anything. It's rude and it's offensive to pressure and embarrass people in a social situation into donating to something or someone that they may not even have the slightest interest in or knowledge of.

No mas.
